Srinivasa Sagara Dam

Srinivasa Sagara Dam is located in Chikkaballapur and serves as a perfect picnic spot for a weekend getaway from Bangalore.  If you are driving, you will easily need around 2 hours to reach  Chikkaballapur from Bangalore. Would suggest plan this post lunch since there aren't good options for food along this route.  Once you reach Chikkaballapur, switch on google maps which will give you directions to this place. People who wish to explore this place by local transport can take the KSRTC bus from Bangalore to Chikkaballapur. Upon reaching Chikkaballapur, you can hire an auto to this place.  As you enter Sri Venkateshwara Temple Road, you will be stopped to pay parking fee here.  Parking fee = Rs 20.  After taking parking ticket, you drive for another 350 meters and reach parking lot. There is a huge area dedicated mainly for parking but we drove up to Sri Venkataramana temple and there is enough space to park your vehicle here also since there were less visitors on this day.  We got

1-Jan-23 It was new years eve and a Sunday too. So we knew that all the famous tourists spots in and around Bangalore would be super crowded or Government would have even banned entry into few places. So we decided to visit an offbeat place on this day. My blogger friend had mentioned about this interesting science museum in Gauribidanur Bangalore. So we decided to visit this.  By the time we could decide upon this place it was pretty late. So we hopped onto our car at around 11 am and drove along the Bangalore-Tumakuru Highway. After Dabaspet we had to take a right and drive along the Devarayanadurga road. It was lunch time and since we couldn't find any good restaurants along this route, we stopped at Anugraha Grand which is located at Devarayanadurga peak entrance. Food was good.  We then followed google maps and reached Dr. H N Science Centre around 3 pm. Without any stops, it might take around 2.5 hours to reach this place from Bangalore. There is ample parking space here sinc

If you are passionate about Radios then this place is a must visit in Bangalore. Short Wave Radio Museum is the brain child of Mr. Uday Kalburgi and is nestled in the quaint locality of Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore. He is Mr Uday Kalburgi and this is his world of radios He has a collection of around 150+ radios from all over the world from 1920 to 1977. We were amazed to see his collection and there is a story behind every radio here. You must visit to hear these interesting stories😊. He has even maintained the receipts of radios which were brought way back in 1963.  As you glance through each rack in this museum, you will find all kind of Vintage radios. And I am sure you must have seen at least one of them during your childhood days (especially the PHILIPS one). I could recognize one  .  Most of the radios are encased in large wooden cabinets brought from Holland, USA, Australia and are restored here with original components. On the walls you will find posters of old Radio brands –
