Located adjacent to Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park in Bangalore, is the National Military Memorial)NMM) which is a tribute to honor the brave martyrs of the Armed Forces who have sacrificed their lives in their service to our nation.  We took a metro and got down at Cubbon Park metro station. From here we walked towards the memorial since google maps was showing 12 minutes by walk. While you walk towards the memorial, on Raj Bhavan road you will notice these interesting murals.  It was a lovely walk on a Sunday morning along this stretch. And finally we reached National Military memorial.  Entry Fee  : There is no ticket counter here. You will need to pay an entry fee of Rs.10 per person to the Security guard. Timings  : 9 am to 6:30 pm   There is no defined trail here neither anybody to guide you around the Memorial. Shaheed Dweep earlier known as Neil Island is another famous tourist hotspot of Andaman famous for its tropical woodlands, white sandy beaches and amazing coral reefs. It is a tiny island spanning over an area of 13.7 sq.km most of which is covered with forest. Neil Island was named after British Brigadier general James Neill, who had fought on the side of the British East Indian company in the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. We reached Havelock Jetty point and boarded Makruzz for our journey to Neil Island. It took an hour to reach Neil Island.  Porters are available and they take your baggages in these bicycles Upon arrival we boarded onto our vehicles and were taken straight to Pearl Park Beach Resort.  But there was a huge wait time since most of the visitors had arrived around the same time and rooms were getting ready. Swaraj Dweep earlier known as Havelock Island gets the highest tourist footfall every year due to its pristine beaches, turquoise blue crystal clear waters sea and the wide variety of water sports that it offers. Havelock Island was previously named after a British General Sir Henry Havelock who served in India. In December 2018, it was renamed, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as Swaraj Island as a tribute to Subhash Chandra Bose He then subsequently named Neil Island as Shaheed Dweep and Ross Island was renamed as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep as well. Havelock island can be reached from Port Blair by ferries and cruises. We had booked our tickets in Makruzz.
