Monsoon time of the year and I was looking for a short holiday for just over a weekend. As I started looking for a holiday suiting my needs, I found this best holiday package Jog Falls and that too in this season. This was planned by F5Escapes, an all women tour group. And yes, they had called it right, the next 3 days they took us to nature lover’s paradise where we could unwind ourselves amidst nature. Let me take you all on this monsoon getaway. Day 1 : We started our journey from Bangalore around 6 am in the morning, after picking everyone from all areas of Bangalore, we halted for Breakfast at 10 Am. Post that we drove for next 5 hours to reach our destination “Inchara Homestay” in Thirthahalli taluk of Shimoga District, Karnataka. This homestay is nestled amidst areca nut and coffee plantations in the little village of Mandagadde.  The simplicity and elegance of this sets it apart from several other homestays in Karnataka. We were treated with a wholesome lunch on arrival.

Let me take you all on another memorable trip of mine – Spiti (Paradise on Earth). Spiti is tucked away in a far corner of Himachal Pradesh on the wrong side of the greater Himalayas and is often called as “Little Tibet” or “Mini Ladakh”. But there is a difference, unlike Ladakh Spiti makes your holiday very pleasant and stress-free with less crowd, no houses, no vehicles to give way to, no mobile network or anything to remind of the world we have left behind. So, when you finally lose that cell phone signal, you will be transformed to a completely different world. Spiti lets you enjoy the bewitching beauty at your pace and time. Bellikkal – Your Stint with Nature Bellikkal is a less crowded and secluded hill station in the Nilgiri mountains of Tamil Nadu. This is located on the south east of the Mudumalai forests, 16 km from Ooty and 249 km South of Bengalaru. Located at a high altitude, it is totally isolated from the outside world and is a great place to get rejuvenated and recharged.   There are several vantage points at Bellikkal that provide many beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountain peaks. One of the main attraction is the Neelakurinji Flowers. The flower has purplish blue color when aged. It looks light blue in the earlier stage of blooming. When in full bloom, they lend a bluish haze to the area. But these bushes blossom in a clustered manner once in twelve years. And we turned out to be lucky this year. Valley Of Flowers – The Himalayan Treasure 12 th August – 20 th August 2017 Nestled in the beautiful Himalayas is a beautiful valley called Valley Of Flowers. Once hidden from the outside world, the valley was believed to be a playground of the Gods and fairies. The valley was accidentally discovered by Frank Smith a mountaineer and botanist. He was so mesmerized by the beauty of the valley that he went on to write a book about it! The valley indeed looks beautiful with over 300 different varieties of flowers spread over miles in the valley. I had a pleasure to visit this valley this august.
